Present Perfect Continuous

We form the present perfect continuous with have/has been +.....- ing.

Use:

We use the present perfect continuous to talk about something which started in the past and has been up to the present.

I've been working all day.

How long have you been sitting there?

We also use the present perfect continuous  when  an action has been in progress up to the recent past, especially when the action has results in the present.

It's been snowing. ( It is not snowing now, but there is snow on the ground.)

Have you been painting? ( you are not painting now, but there is paint in your hair.)

We can use the peresent perfect continuous to talk about repeated actions or situations in a period up to present( or the recent past)

I have been having driving lessons for six months.

How long have you been living in İstanbul?
